 t some point in the last Summit Share, I recalled an inquiry we immers
 ed ourselves in during one of the Facilitator Body Training weekends 
 years ago. The question was: Who were you being such that the Declara
 tion of the International Black Summit had to be written in 1991?That
  question has remained with me over the years. So I ask you now as I 
 ask myself: Who were you being, back in the day, such that the Declar
 ation of The International Black Summit had to be written, especially 
 the 3rd paragraph?: We stand for the expression of our spirituality; 
 ending the murders of our men, women and children; building economies
  responsible for funding our community;  maintaining wellness of bein
 g in our bodies; providing human services; establishing nurturing rel
 ationships; altering the conversation of who we are in the media; emp
 owering our youth.During that Facilitator Training weekend, the small 
 group work was to take a look at each phrase of that paragraph and an
 swer.What about standing for our spirituality? Yeah, I did that.What a
 bout ending the murders of our men, women and children? Well, I hadn't
  shot, stabbed or killed anyone, however I had wanted to. On the othe
 r hand, I had hit, kicked, slapped and punched. Gossiped about. Belit
 tled. Criticized.Building Economies responsible for funding our commun
 ity? As Rev Ike said, “The best thing you can do for the poor is no
 t to be one of them.” (Not that the community of people of African 
 descent is poor . . . ) At the time, I was gainfully employed and emp
 loyed a couple of people around the yard, house and a few other odds 
 and ends. Additionally, I helped keep the economy going by being a co
 nsumer.And it was like that for the entire 3rd section of the Declarat
 ion, go to the next phrase, everyone in the group answer. Then last m
 onth after that Summit Share, I wondered, \"Am I any different now? W
 hat in me shifted, changed, altered, transformed?\" Additionally: Wh
 o am I being such that the Declaration remains an ideal and a vision 
 rather than a reality?How do YOU answer that?JOIN US this weekend for
