Reclaiming and Reaffirming Black Wealth, Black Love, and Black Excellence at the International Black
Summit’s 20th Annual Event in Baltimore – August 5 – 8, 2010
Baltimore, Maryland – July 21, 2010 – Hundreds of Black entrepreneurs, community leaders, social scientists and
more are coming to Baltimore for the 20th Annual International Black Summit being held at Sojourner-Douglass
College. This annual gathering of people of African descent is described by previous participants as life-changing,
transformative and empowering and unlike anything they have experienced.
Each year since 1991 people of Black African Descent from diverse backgrounds, countries, lifestyles, opinions and
views attend this three and ½ day event. The purpose of the International Black Summit is to provide an opportunity
for participants to bring into being their vision for the black community and the world. The conversational inquiry for
the 2010 event is the declaration “I am Present to Myself as the Source of my Vision!”
“This is not a conversation about problems,” says Mwangaza Michael-Bandele, International Black Summit facilitator.
“We’re out to cause a global shift in the conversation about who people of Black African Descent are in the world.
Through an exploration of questions and issues participants are empowered to realize their vision. We knew
Baltimore would welcome this.”
Paul Coates, Founder and Director of Baltimore based Black Classic Press, agrees. Coates asserts, “The Summit is
an opportunity for healing, revitalizing and strengthening ourselves individually, and by extension, our community. It’s
about having dreams realized.”
