Burnt Biscuits

Please read below:

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and
then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a
long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of
eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember
waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit,
smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I
told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on
that biscuit and eat every bite! When I got up from the table that evening, I
remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll
never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."Later that night, I
went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits
burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at
work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt
anyone!"You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm
not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just
like everyone else. What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept
each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one
of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting
relationship. And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the
good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God.
Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a
relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!We could extend this to
any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it
a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!"Don't put the key to your
happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own."God Bless You.....
Now, and Always.... So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will
do just fine.!.!.!.! And PLEASE pass this along to someone who has enriched
your life... I just did!

I just had a thought: Does it matter how many people show up at the Summit?

2nd thought: Yes, the one person who matters is ME. It matters that I
get myself there and that I am present in the Conversation and
Clearing for my life. Because, when I am clear a host of others clear
too...

3rd thought If you are in Baltimore in the room, just outside the
room, in another country, be in the Coversation of Clearing,
Listiening to your life and what life is saying to you in each moment.

4th thought: I could be AT THE SUMMIT, IN THE ROOM even IN FRONT OF
THE ROOM LEADING THE CONVERSATION and NOT EVEN BE PRESENT IN THE
CONVERSATION...LOL, now that's a deep thought...Being in the room is
one thing and being PRESENT AND IN THE CONVERSATION is another
thing...wow!

What is life saying to YOU/ME right now?

Clearing, clearing, clearing such that I am able to Listen, Listen,
and Listen even more deeply and act from the space of DEEP LISTENING.

I just spent a month with children from Iraq and the US and France. I
spontaneously did an exercise one day when I asked the group to "be
silent and listen."

1st round: they heard the stuff in the room air conditioner, chair noise,
2nd round daytime crickets, wind blowing through the leaves
3nd round: one girl said, "I CAN HEAR MY HEART BEAT!" Then another
said, "I hear my stomach." Well actually, we all heard her stomach...

Then I shared with them how when I was at a 10 day silent retreat I
heard the dew drops falling off the blades of grass...

This started with the question/thought: Does it matter how many people
show up at the Summit?

What I am hearing now is the question: What matters in that I show up
for, in MY LIFE. And, when I show up, what am I listening to, for...

So, when I go back to the first thougth/question, it occurs to me to
be present in my life. Present to the opportunity I have to show up
for myself and others. Inside of that clearing I can freely INVITED
people to the Summit, SHARE the Declaration and Invitation and keep
listening for what life is revealing to me about the conversation
on-goingly....

So, today and in the next days leading up to the Summit I will do the
above AND follow up on some of the folks I had invited and talked to
before I went to the woods...

I continue to BE CLEARING...

I am already at the Summit and in PRESENT IN THE CONVERSATION! I
invite everyone to BE PRESENT AND IN THE SUMMIT CONVERSATION, RIGHT
NOW and LISTEN TO WHAT LIFE IS SAYING TO YOU/ME/US and SHARE...LET'S
GET IT STARTED IN HERE (I AM POINTING AT MY HEART RIGHT NOW)
