Ava J. Baker is a visionary leader and results-driven professional with a deep understanding of customer needs, expectations, and demands. She continually demonstrates her talent for building strong, lasting customer relationships and creating high-impact programs that directly influenced organizational success and drove significant growth.

Ava Baker is President, A. J. Waters, LLC, a small business consulting firm, which provides solutions to help clients understand and represent customer/member needs by developing strategies that improve relationships, solve problems, and optimize service delivery. Services include development, facilitation, and planning. Clients include YWCA USA, Johns Hopkins University, Center for Disease Control (CDC), and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

Before founding A J Waters, LLC, Ava served as Director, Member Services for AARP (formerly American Association of Retired Persons), an organization that benefited from her expertise and dedication as a business leader for many years. In this position, she provides strategic leadership for one of the largest contact centers in the country, with 5 million contacts each year. By implementing multi-channel customer relations and loyalty programs, she increased satisfaction, boosted awareness, and produced 400% increase in attendance at signature events. She led over 100 multi-level staff based from coast to coast. Leadership development was an integral part of staff competency development, often planned and effectively lead by Ava.

Ava’s recognition extends beyond the commendations and honors given to her by the executives, employees, volunteers, and customers at AARP. In June 2003, she appeared on the cover of CRM Magazine, and was featured in the March 2004 edition of CIO Magazine. Her commitment to innovation and “pushing the edge” in customer strategy was highlighted by One to One Magazine.

A truly dedicated and insightful leader with a passion for customer relationship management, Ava is capable of balancing strategic talents and operational to advance organizational priorities, and achieve even the most ambitious goals.

Ava serves on the Atlanta Council of the American Kidney Fund; founding member of the Herron Creek Architectural Control Committee; founded The Pearl Foundation, Inc. a subsidiary of Iota Lambda Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; former president of Iota Lambda Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; and has held numerous leadership roles.

Ava J. Baker was educated at the University of Maryland and holds a Master of Science degree in Consumer Behavior and Business Management. She completed post-graduate studies at the University of Colorado and the University of Nebraska.
